Tilapia with Lemon Cheese Sauce BigOven - Save recipe or add to grocery list Yum
I love comfort humble dinners like this recipe with fresh ingredients, and it only takes you a maximum of 25 minutes to make. This lemony cream sauce complimented the fish beautifully. Serve it with your favorite sides. I love this sauce on any pan fried, grilled, baked fish or even chicken.

Instructions
  1. If you are using garlic, heat butter in a sauce pan, saute the garlic, then pour in the cream and reduce to less than 3/4 of a cup. If you are not using garlic, in a sauce pan, bring cream to a boil and reduce to less than 3/4 of a cup or to a thicker sauce like consistency.
  2. Meanwhile, season the flour with your favorite spice, salt and pepper to taste. Dredge the fish covered with flour mix completely. Shake off any excess. Pan fry the fish with canola oil 3 minutes on one side and 2 mins on the other side until golden brown or until flaky. If your fish is too thick, after pan frying, transfer it to a baking pan and bake at 350°F for 5-8 mins or until flaky.
  3. When sauce is reduced to a thick consistency, add in white wine and lemon zest. Bring it to a boil for about 2 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, mayo, parsley, salt, pepper and boil for another minute. Remove the sauce pan from heat, add in grated asiago cheese and keep on stirring until melted. Pour sauce over fish and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Recipe Notes

If you are using a flat top to cook, make sure you remove the sauce pan from the heat to melt the cheese. Too much heat applied will split the cheese.

You can use this sauce over any chicken or fish.
